Bundesverband Naturkost Naturwaren Herstellung und Handel e.V. (Organic Processors and Traders Association) represents the interests of the organic food sector on a political and economical level. The association participates in the constitution of national and international legislative projects, for example in the enhancements of the EU-Organic Regulations. Furthermore, it issues press relations and is active in public relations.
The association adopts special quality guidelines for the whole food trade, for example the benchmarks for pesticide residues in organic products and a resolution requiring full declaration of all food ingredients. BNN Monitoring for Fruit and Vegetables in the whole food trade adds to the established process controls in the ecological food industry.
BNN Herstellung und Handel offers various possibilities for a dialog between member companies and promotes the open exchange of information and views in the whole food sector. Among the members are producers, traders, distributors and importers of organic products.
The association and its members are involved in the further development of the market for organic food and natural products and thereby also in the creation and maintenance of employment in the regions.
BNN Herstellung und Handel is a member of IFOAM (International Federation of Agriculture Movements) and BÖLW (Bund Ökologische Lebensmittelwirtschaft).
